Brown Honey in Broomwheat Tea
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (October, 1999)
Average review score:

Breathtaking and empoweringThe illustrations are stunning and the poems are simple and spectacular. An amazing read for any child, these poems are especially empowering for young african american children. It's unusual to find a book that doesn't make an issue of being a "minority." I highly, highly recommend it.

Brown Like Me
Published in Hardcover by New Victoria Pub (January, 2000)
Average review score:

We love this book!As transracial adoptive parents, we looked high and low for books about African American children adopted by caucasian parents. My daughter, 4, loves this book about Noelle's search for brown things that help her feel as though she belongs. Brown Like Me is a wonderful, thoughtful and joyful book about how a family can look very different, yet feel so much love.

Brown Shoes, Black Shoes, and Felt Slippers: Unions of the Post-War U.S. Navy
Published in Paperback by Mine Warfare Association (January, 1997)
Average review score:

Bureaucratic politics in the US NavyThis book was endorsed by the late Admiral Elmo "Bud" Zumwalt, USN Chief of Naval Operations (1970-1974). He considered it "essential reading for professional naval officers." It covers the entire psot-war era, and documents how the rivalry between surface warriors, aviators and submariners have undermined the biggest navy in the world. It features a very extensive bibliography, and has been endorsed by Charles Moskos, Rear Admial James Forrest, USN (Ret) and many others. This book was originally published by the US Naval College in 1995.

Browns Memories: The 338 Most Memorable Heroes, Heartaches & Highlights from 50 Seasons of Cleveland Browns Football
Published in Paperback by Gray & Co., Publishers (December, 1996)
Average review score:

Browns Memories- Good for a Browns Fan's' SoulWords can't really describe the impact this small but powerful book has had on Cleveland's football fans. Given up for naught in 1995 and 1996, the spirit of the Browns was secured in our hearts with the emergence of Browns Memories in late 1996. Browns fans all over the country latched onto this work as "chicken soup" for a Browns fan's soul. It's pure Browns, through and through...not about the move, not about the politics, but why we all became and remain Browns fans. Right time and the right book, it got us all through the tough times. Great work and very enjoyable.

The Burnt Book
Published in Hardcover by Princeton Univ Pr (03 July, 1995)

An excellent and rich explanation of the Talmud.Ouaknin masterfully explains most of the basics. I recommend this book to everyone who wishes to grasp the genius of 2500 years of Rabbinic discussions. The author helps the reader, at every level, to navigate the Yam (Sea) of Talmud without being totaly overwhelmed. Difficult reading, requires some background, but a pleasure to study.

Business Executive's Handbook
Published in Hardcover by Prentice Hall (January, 1900)
Average review score:

Business Executive's HandbookA 1962 Edition of this Handbook was my guide when I started my manufacturing business. To an Engineer the necessities and complexities of business were like a foreign language. Whenever an unknown term or task was encountered it was the first reference I turned to and it usually had the answer.
Although my well worn and still used (on occassion) edition is dated with regard to tax codes and technologies it is still relevent and helpful with concepts and definitions. A more up to date edition would be an even more useful addition to any small or large business' library

Business Minds: Connect with the World's Greatest Management Thinkers
Published in Hardcover by Financial Times Prentice Hall (17 January, 2002)
Average review score:

Great reference book and fun to delve intoSince I often have to find sources of information--and sometimes speakers--for my company, I buy a lot of books like this. What I liked here was the insights into the people with ideas. Not only does the book tell you what these major thinkers have written, but it lets you know their mind-set and their views of what is likely to be important as time goes on. Most of the interviews are also quite entertaining as well as informative and interesting--good reads.

Caldera OpenLinux System Administration Unleashed (Unleashed)
Published in Paperback by SAMS (13 June, 2000)
Average review score:

Administrator's DreamThis is a very well written book covering topics that are more advanced than the usual beginners book. Topics are covered very clearly, and are written in a manner that will help anyone in their progression of using and administrating Caldera OpenLinux. A natural order of progression is used, and the examples are written to show how the syntax of commands are used. This book actually covers topics beyond the subject, such as TCP/IP networking, bridged environments, routing protocols, packet structure and OSI models. A quite worthwhile investment, and a must have for anyone administrating Linux.
